Although there have been some changes in the global rankings for the following UK universities, the nation still remains a leader in education on a global scale and a very popular choice for students from across the world who want to study abroad.

  1. University of Glasgow (Global Rank: 86)

On the ranking of the top UK universities for 2022, the University of Glasgow has secured a place. The University of Glasgow situated in Scotland’s centre of creativity and culture, receives nearly perfect marks for its global outlook and citations. With approximately 35,000 students, 40% of whom are international, the University of Glasgow has an impressively diverse student population.

Fun Fact: The University of Glasgow is the fourth oldest University in the English –speaking countries; and was founded in 1451.

The university makes up for it, though, with high citation rankings and a global perspective. Overall, the University of Warwick receives a decent score of 65.4 out of 100. The university is home to students who desire to study abroad because 43% of its students are from other countries.

The largest health care learning center in Europe is located at the university. It’s no surprise that it ranks 35th overall in the world and 7th among the top UK universities due to its strong ratings in research and citations.  International students make up 49% of the student population at King’s College London. LSE also tops the ranking for the proportion of enrolled overseas students. According to the college, an amazing 72% of its student body is made up of foreign students.

This year, Imperial College London ranked in the top 3 universities in the UK. This university that is situated in the centre of the English capital is mostly dedicated to science and has an international student body of a whopping 59%. Even more impressive is Imperial College London’s score of 11.3 for the ratio of students to staff members. The university, however, might strive to raise its 40 to 60 student ratio score for female to male students respectively.

Five out of the six Times Higher Education rating criteria—teaching, research, citations, international outlook, and overall impressions. The percentage of international students at the university is at an astounding 39%.

On the list of best universities in the UK this year, the University of Oxford takes the top spot. It has now occupied the top position globally for six years running. Oxford performed exceptionally well in terms of its teaching, research, citations, and global orientation ranking criteria. It has the second-highest score on the list for this rating criterion, 10.7 for the ratio of students to staff.

Fun Fact: One of the alumni of University of Oxford is Stephen Hawking.
