Our roots are in underwater non-destructive testing (NDT) and inspection of offshore drilling units, vessels, platforms, and FPSOs, working with classification bodies such as ABS, DNV, BV, and Lloyd’s. Job Title: Marine Operations Assistant
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
- Support the Marine Manager and vessel crew in their daily operations.
- Coordinate and oversee the routine functions of marine assets.
- Ensure adherence to the company’s QHSSE (Quality, Health, Safety, Security & Environment) standards.
- Contribute to business development efforts.
- Foster and maintain connections with key stakeholders in the marine and energy sectors.
- Assist in vendor relationship management.
- Enhance operational systems and communication processes.
- Compile and submit regular activity reports to management.
- Monitor equipment upkeep, crew efficiency, and safety performance.
- Assist in sourcing and onboarding qualified seafarers.
- Carry out internal audits to ensure compliance with required procedures.
- Stay up to date with maritime regulations and ensure company compliance.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Marine Engineering.
- At least 4 years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong knowledge of Offshore Support Vessel operations, STS transfers, and terminal logistics.
- Understanding of international and Nigerian maritime regulations, particularly those related to NIMASA, Flag and Port State Controls, and Classification Societies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Effective time management skills.
- Minimum of 1-year post-NYSC experience.
- Practical experience in the Marine industry and familiarity with key standards and operational practices.
- Sound knowledge of IMO regulations and frameworks such as SOLAS, ISM, ISPS, STCW, MLC 2006, and ISO.
