Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Job Summary
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will oversee and monitor construction projects to ensure delivery within budget, agreed timelines, and established quality standards. This role involves managing project costs, contracts, procurement, and financial documentation, while also supporting stakeholders to achieve maximum value for money.
Key Responsibilities
- Create bills of quantities, tender documents, and cost estimates.
- Submit tenders and participate actively in bidding and negotiation processes.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive terms.
- Manage budgets with accurate cost forecasting and monitoring.
- Maintain detailed financial records and documentation for all project transactions.
- Provide expert input on procurement, cost efficiency, and risk management.
- Draft initial quotes and contract documentation for the sales team.
- Work with design teams to review and analyze architectural and MEP drawings.
- Handle valuations, claims, and variations with contractors and consultants.
- Prepare interim and final valuations as well as construction claims.
- Conduct feasibility studies and lead value engineering initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure projects remain financially viable.
- Perform accurate quantity take-offs using RCP and marking drawings.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies between BOQ, drawings, specifications, and contract terms.
- Participate in pre-tender activities and raise queries with clients, architects, and project managers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in both residential and commercial projects.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Proficiency in quantity takeoff tools, BIM, and surveying software.
- Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in quantity surveying.
- Professional certification or membership with recognized quantity surveying or construction bodies.
Core Competencies
- Strong knowledge of construction practices, codes, and regulatory standards.
- Familiarity with NBC, ANSI/ASHRAE, and LEED standards.
- Excellent planning, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
- Proficiency in construction contract administration and contract law.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality outputs.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.
- Experience in general contracting, design-build, and value-based projects.
- Skilled in interpreting AutoCAD drawings and validating quantities.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and commercial acumen.
Salary
₦800,000 – ₦1,000,000 monthly
