Overall Purpose of the Job

The Production Engineer will utilize technical expertise in well, reservoir, and surface facility operations to optimize production. The role involves improving data quality, achieving planned production goals, and collaborating across teams to maximize asset value.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Oversee the integrated daily monitoring of the injection and production systems.
  •  Assure the dependability of metering systems and the integrity of production data.
  • Contribute to shutdown planning and provide strategic input into production forecasting.
  • Manage idle well inventory and map field constraints.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers and support key technical decisions.
  • Oversee projects for short- and medium-term production planning and execution.
  • Determine and rank the possibilities for cost reduction and production optimization.
  • Manage facility constraints, well interventions, and artificial lift systems.

Requirements

Education:

  • B.Eng in Petroleum Engineering or Chemical Engineering
  • B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering

Skills:

  • Full integration into production teams with strong collaboration across operational and technical departments to achieve optimized production.

The ideal candidate must possess

  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, petroleum, or a similar field with at least a Second-Class Upper Division (2.1).
  • Strong economic evaluation capabilities and decision-making proficiency.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with production software systems including OFM, IPM, and Spotfire.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
  • At least ten years of experience in facilities, process, or production engineering positions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of data analysis, field development, well testing, and artificial lift systems.
