Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist
Location: Shagamu Road, Ikorodu
Position Type: Full-Time / Permanent
Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our clinical laboratory team. The successful candidate will perform lab tests, analyze results, ensure quality control, and contribute to maintaining high standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and analyze diagnostic laboratory tests (hematology, microbiology, chemistry, immunology, etc.)
- Prepare and process patient samples, ensuring accurate labeling and handling
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment; perform routine maintenance
- Monitor quality control measures and ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations
- Interpret test results and communicate findings to medical teams
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all tests and results
- Assist in implementing new lab procedures and protocols as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science or related field
- Valid license or certification (as required by local regulatory body)
- Strong understanding of laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and safety procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a clinical/diagnostic laboratory setting
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS)
- Experience in multiple disciplines (e.g. microbiology, immunology, molecular diagnostics)
