Job Summary
The HR Operations & Reward Manager will lead compensation and benefits strategy, HR shared services operations, payroll governance, and employee welfare programs. The role will ensure compliance with labor regulations while driving HR process improvement, digital transformation, and effective HR service delivery across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Reward & Compensation Management

Develop and implement compensation and benefits frameworks including salary reviews and incentive schemes.

Support Africa-wide reward strategies aligned with global HR philosophy and local regulations.

Conduct salary benchmarking, job grading, and workforce cost analysis.

Prepare reward and workforce reports for senior leadership.

Provide guidance on reward policies and handle complex HR service queries.
HR Operations & Shared Services

Manage HR shared services operations including employee data, HRIS systems, and service-level agreements.

Drive HR automation and digital transformation initiatives.

Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Finance teams, and external vendors to align HR operations with business objectives.

Support HR due diligence and integration activities during mergers and acquisitions.
Payroll & HR Compliance

Oversee accurate payroll processing and statutory compliance with tax, labor, and social security regulations.

Ensure compliance with data protection laws including NDPR and other relevant legislation.

Conduct payroll reconciliations and periodic employee data audits.

Manage statutory reporting to government agencies and internal control teams.
Employee Welfare & Medical Services

Oversee employee welfare initiatives including medical insurance schemes, wellness programs, canteen services, and long-service awards.

Manage vendor relationships and ensure cost-effective welfare service delivery.

Develop and implement employee wellbeing strategies that support engagement and retention.

Monitor and report welfare program performance to senior management.
Requirements
Education & Certifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

Master’s degree is an advantage.
-
Professional HR certifications such as CIPD, SHRM, or HRCI are highly desirable.
Experience
-
5–8 years of progressive HR experience.
-
At least 3–4 years in compensation & benefits, HR operations, or shared services.

Experience managing payroll, HR compliance, and HRIS systems.
-
Experience working in unionized or industrial environments.

Exposure to multi-country HR operations or M&A HR integration is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies

Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Strong understanding of reward frameworks and HR compliance across Africa.

High integrity and ability to handle confidential HR matters.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.
