Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Chief Engineer to join our pre-opening team in Benin City. This role is critical in ensuring the seamless operation, maintenance, and safety of all hotel facilities while delivering exceptional guest comfort and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the property maintenance department
• Ensure all hotel facilities are maintained to the highest standards
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies aligned with business goals
• Lead, coach, and manage the engineering team to drive performance and growth
• Establish and execute a preventive maintenance program
• Monitor departmental budgets, controlling costs and inventory effectively
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
• Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests, ensuring satisfaction
• Build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Support audits by ensuring proper documentation and adherence to best practices

Requirements

• Proven experience in property or hotel maintenance/engineering
• Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities
• Hands-on approach with a proactive mindset
• Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest service
• Ability to provide innovative solutions and recommendations
