The Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) was established under the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund Law of 2016 to provide financial assistance to Lagos residents for job creation and economic empowerment. LSETF aims to harness the innovative potential of Lagosians to reduce unemployment by supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and facilitating skill acquisition programs.
We are hiring for the position below:
Job Title: Finance Officer
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job Purpose
To provide effective and professional financial support to the Head of Finance. This role will ensure proper record-keeping of the fund’s financial operations, oversee project-related financials, and manage treasury operations in compliance with internal policies and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Loan Management: Maintain accurate records of all loan categories within the organization’s portfolio.
- Bank Reconciliation: Prepare and analyze bank reconciliation statements to ensure financial accuracy and timely processing.
- Equity Contribution Verification: Validate and confirm equity contributions in line with established policies.
- Audit Support: Collaborate with internal and external auditors by providing required documents and information.
- Petty Cash Management: Efficiently handle the fund’s petty cash transactions and ensure proper documentation.
- Ensure safe handling and secure processing of personal data in compliance with data protection regulations.
- Tax Compliance: Manage tax-related activities to ensure organizational compliance with all statutory requirements.
- Payment Processing: Process payments accurately using the organization’s ERP system.
- Prepare and manage payment vouchers.
- Carry out other financial duties as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of a first degree or HND (lower credit) from a recognized tertiary institution.
- A professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, etc.) is an added advantage.
- Must possess a valid NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate.
- Two years or more of relevant experience working in accounting or finance.
