Job Title: Fire Safety Officer

Job Summary
The Fire Safety Officer will be responsible for creating and implementing effective fire safety programs, protocols, and initiatives to protect personnel, assets, and the environment within the factory premises. This role plays a key part in ensuring regulatory compliance, conducting proactive fire risk assessments, and promoting a culture of fire safety awareness throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and periodically revise fire prevention plans tailored to the unique risks of the manufacturing environment.
- Conduct regular audits and risk evaluations, particularly in high-risk zones such as chemical and flammable material storage areas, and recommend corrective actions.
- Investigate fire incidents and false alarms to identify root causes and propose preventative measures.
- Organize and deliver fire safety training sessions for staff, contractors, fire marshals, and safety officers.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all fire-related events, debriefings, and improvements made.
- Collaborate on Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs) for employees with specific needs.
- Ensure confidential handling of data in line with corporate and data protection standards.
- Support a safe workplace by aligning with existing health and safety policies.
- Keep training materials updated and ensure all records are properly maintained.
- Schedule and execute fire drills and assist in the development of emergency response procedures.
- Contribute to the creation of fire evacuation strategies and internal fire safety policies.
- Raise staff awareness on fire prevention methods and compliance best practices.
- Supervise the upkeep and functionality of fire extinguishers, alarms, emergency signage, and exits.
- Regularly monitor and report on the condition of fire doors, alarms, and automated detection systems.
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree or diploma in Fire Safety Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively deliver training sessions.
- High attention to detail and sound analytical thinking.
- Relevant certifications in fire safety, emergency response, or firefighting are a strong advantage.
- 3–5 years of experience in a fire safety role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Solid knowledge of local fire regulations, health and safety standards, and risk management principles.
