Company Overview
J3 Foods and Stores International is a well-established FMCG distribution company with over 8 years of operational experience. The company has a strong presence across multiple states, including Lagos, Ibadan, Ogun, Ondo, and Osun.

We are currently seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented professional to join our team in the role of Chief Accountant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and complete financial records for all J3 Foods and Stores International operations.

  • Prepare and present timely financial statements (monthly, quarterly, and annual) across all outlets.

  • Oversee inventory accounting, including purchases, transfers, adjustments, and write-offs, in line with accounting standards.

  • Work closely with warehouse teams to reconcile physical stock with accounting records and reduce discrepancies.

  • Review and authorize balance sheet reconciliations, including bank accounts, inventory, receivables, and payables.

  • Supervise, guide, and mentor Account Officers across all branches.

  • Monitor and account for trade promotions, discounts, and rebates accurately.

  • Validate sales reports and ensure proper revenue recognition.

  • Ensure timely filing and remittance of VAT, corporate tax, and other statutory obligations.

  • Keep up to date with changes in tax laws relevant to FMCG distribution.

  • Design and enforce internal control systems to minimize errors and prevent fraud.

  • Train Account Officers on updated accounting policies and procedures.

  • Prepare and submit management reports to the MD/CEO and General Manager.

  • Provide financial advice to management on profitability improvement and investment decisions.

  • Conduct monthly financial performance reviews and enforce compliance with accounting standards.

  • Standardize accounting processes across all company locations.

  • Resolve complex accounting issues escalated from branch Account Officers.

  • Approve payment vouchers, petty cash transactions, and bank reconciliations.

  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule, including statutory deductions and remittances.

  • Monitor payment channels to confirm receipt of customer payments.

  • Oversee cost accounting and ensure appropriate expense allocation.

  • Identify and implement cost-reduction strategies without affecting operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

  • HND, Bachelor’s Degree, or Master’s Degree in Accounting or a related field.

  • Minimum of 6–8 years relevant accounting experience, preferably within FMCG or distribution companies.

Salary

  • ₦400,000 per month
