Sonia Foods Industries is among the top producers of tomato-based products in West Africa. Headquartered along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway (KM 39), the company manufactures a wide range of food seasonings and tomato products, including Sonia Tomato Mix, Peppe & Onion Tomato Seasoning Mix, Curry Powder, and Thyme Leaves. Its production facility is situated at Onigbagbe/Sotubo Village, along the Ikorodu–Sagamu Expressway, Ogun State.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Food Technology Intern to join our team in Ikeja, Lagos. This internship offers practical experience in food processing, quality assurance, and product development, providing a great foundation for a career in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Support production activities and monitor daily food processing operations.

• Maintain accurate logs and reports related to production and quality checks.

• Assist in process optimization and continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, and efficiency.

• Work with the quality assurance team to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety regulations.

• Participate in laboratory testing of raw materials and finished products.

• Contribute to product development activities such as formulation, sensory testing, and shelf-life evaluation.

• Help uphold strict quality control standards throughout the production cycle.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. or HND in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or any related field.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.

• Basic understanding of food safety systems such as HACCP, ISO, or GMP will be an advantage.

• Competent in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Must reside in or be willing to commute daily to Ikeja, Lagos.

• Keen attention to detail and high commitment to product quality.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
