We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Tech & Society Management Trainee
Location: Lagos
Employment type: Contract

Job Purpose

This position aims to provide trainees with essential management competencies and a comprehensive understanding of the organization’s operations, fostering an environment of continuous growth and learning.
As a participant, you will contribute towards seamless management succession and leadership development.
The position is for a 24-month fixed-term contract and may require travel depending on project or program needs.

Responsibilities
Project Support:

  • Assist in organizing, executing, and tracking civic tech and digital security initiatives.

  • Contribute to creating project schedules, budgets, and outcome targets.

  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely delivery of project goals.

Collaboration and Partnerships:

  • Seek and develop partnerships with relevant organizations, agencies, and institutions.

  • Assist in preparing partnership proposals and contractual agreements.

  • Maintain and nurture relationships with stakeholders and collaborators.

Administrative Support:

  • Perform administrative duties such as scheduling, record-keeping, and correspondence.

  • Help coordinate logistics for meetings, events, and program activities.

Research and Analysis:

  • Research current trends and best practices in civic tech, digital resilience, and digital security.

  • Analyze data to support strategic decisions and inform project planning.

  • Develop reports, slide decks, and other supporting materials.

Community Engagement:

  • Assist with the planning and delivery of stakeholder events and community outreach.

  • Contribute to engagement strategies for diverse communities in tech-driven civic programs.

  • Support communication platforms, including social media, newsletters, and web content.

Key Skills:

  • Strong writing, analytical, and digital research capabilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Political Science, or a related field (preferred)

  • Master’s in digital rights, social technology, or related area

  • Demonstrated interest and foundational knowledge in tech and society, tech for social good, or civic tech

  • 4–6 years of relevant experience

  • Interest in adopting new digital capabilities like multimedia, social platforms, online communities, and blogging tools

  • Creative mindset with audience-oriented content strategy

  • Resilient, adaptable, and result-driven

  • Able to manage multiple deadlines and collaborate effectively within teams

  • High level of personal integrity, independence, and discretion

  • Understanding of legal frameworks around tech use, ethical concerns, and human-tech dynamics

  • Familiarity with digital rights, cyber threats, and the societal impact of emerging technologies

  • Interest in business development and growth
