We are hiring to cover the following position:
Title of Position: Ophthalmologist
Where: Lagos
Type of job: full-time
Principal Duties
- Identify and manage conditions affecting the eyes, such as macular degeneration, cataracts, and glaucoma.
- Perform eye surgery, such as laser treatments, corrective surgeries, and cataract removal.
- Give patients advice on preventative measures and best practices for eye care.
- Analyze diagnostic tests such retinal imaging and visual field evaluations.
- Work together with other medical specialists to offer patients complete care.
- Document treatment plans and keep up-to-date patient records.
- Perform thorough eye exams and, if required, recommend corrective lenses.
- Give patients having eye surgery pre- and post-operative treatment.
- Control ocular disorders associated with systemic illnesses such as diabetes or high blood pressure.
- Keep abreast on developments in ophthalmic technologies and therapies.
Essential Knowledge and Credentials
- Ophthalmology-focused medical degree
- A license to practice issued by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) or another appropriate body
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities
- Capable of solving problems and paying close attention to details.
- Excellent diagnostic and surgical abilities
