Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and efficient Officer, Card Settlement to join our operations team in Lagos. This role is focused on ensuring timely and accurate processing of card-related financial transactions, reconciliation of settlement files, and maintaining integrity in the posting of card transactions into the appropriate general ledger (GL) accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the timely reconciliation and settlement of all card transactions involving POS, VISA, and MasterCard networks.

  • Ensure accurate posting of customer card transactions into designated GL accounts.

  • Monitor and balance daily incoming and outgoing card transaction files.

  • Process merchant settlements and ensure proper allocation of amounts to merchant GL accounts.

  • Perform daily transaction entries into expense and revenue accounts as necessary.

  • Liaise with payment processors such as Interswitch and UPSL to manage card network settlements.

  • Upload and manage transaction files in the data repository (Data Store) to ensure compliance and traceability.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure seamless card operations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a Science or Social Science discipline from an accredited institution.

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in card transaction processing, authorization, clearing, or settlement functions is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of banking systems and customer-facing financial products.

  • Familiarity with payment networks (Visa, MasterCard) and payment gateways (e.g., Interswitch).
