Job Summary
We are looking for a results-driven Logistics Officer responsible for expanding our transportation capacity by recruiting additional trucks and drivers. This role also involves managing daily logistics operations to support timely and effective delivery of products and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and onboard truck owners and drivers to grow the company’s operational fleet.
- Create and maintain strong alliances with suppliers and shipping companies.
- Oversee onboarding procedures, ensuring all documentation and compliance measures are met.
- Guarantee that all logistics procedures align with safety, regulatory, and compliance standards.
- Generate periodic reports covering fleet status, logistics expenses, and operational efficiency.
- Aid in route planning to minimize delivery durations and fuel usage.
- Work closely with procurement, warehouse, and operations units to align logistics with business objectives.
- Track truck availability and ensure efficient scheduling of fleet resources.
- Organize, monitor, and manage the movement of goods and materials.
- Resolve logistics issues to ensure prompt and uninterrupted delivery operations.
- Keep precise records of logistics operations, including truck usage and driver rosters.
Requirements
- Minimum qualification of OND, HND, or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport Management, or a related discipline.
- Solid knowledge of local regulations and transportation documentation.
- Excellent communication, organizing, and critical thinking skills.
- Proven ability to oversee fleet operations and handle general logistics duties.
- Strong negotiation abilities with proven vendor and relationship management expertise.
