Its headquarters is situated at 17 Simbiat Abiola Road, Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria, with additional operational hubs throughout Nigeria and parts of West Africa. Flight operations began in 2002 with the vision of supporting economic growth in inland Nigeria by delivering consistent and accessible air travel for both business and leisure passengers, linking key urban centers with less accessible regions.

Job Title: Head, Information Technology
Location: Lagos
Position Overview
Overland Airways, an IOSA-accredited carrier based in Lagos, is looking for an experienced IT expert to lead its Information Technology division. The successful candidate will oversee the airline’s tech infrastructure and drive digital strategies that align with overall business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and guide the IT team to deliver secure, reliable, and efficient IT services
- Develop and implement IT guidelines, industry best practices, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with various departments to assess needs and deploy appropriate tech solutions
- Monitor system health, perform audits, and implement regular updates
- Manage and execute IT-related projects such as system upgrades and infrastructure changes
- Maintain relationships with vendors and oversee IT-related procurements
- Develop and manage the IT department’s budget efficiently
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, standards, and internal protocols
- Oversee setup, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, networks, and servers
- Safeguard data integrity, manage backups, and strengthen cybersecurity measures
- Deliver user support services and address technical problems in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline (Master’s degree is an added advantage)
- In-depth understanding of cybersecurity practices and data protection regulations
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication abilities
- Proven track record of managing multiple projects and setting priorities effectively
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA, Microsoft Certified, ITIL) are desirable
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role
- Solid technical expertise in IT infrastructure, systems, and software
- Prior experience in aviation-related IT systems is a plus
- Must reside in Lagos, Nigeria
