Job Title: Group Chief Sales Officer
Location: Lagos
Job Type: Full-time

Job Purpose/Objectives

To provide strategic leadership in developing and executing the Promasidor Group’s Sales Strategy.

Key Responsibilities/Activities

  • Formulate and implement the Group Sales strategy to achieve the volume goals set out in the 5-year Promasidor Strategic Plan (PSP).
  • Collaborate with the Group CMO to lead the annual PSP planning exercise and support reporting to the Group CEO.
  • Transition monthly country-level Sales reporting from Excel to Vena, the Group’s reporting tool.
  • Coordinate Group-wide sales programs by partnering with country CEOs and Sales Directors to create action plans for field sales.
  • Monitor and ensure the accuracy of the monthly S&OP process in each country and support in-country Sales Directors with forecast training.
  • Assist local CEOs and Sales Directors in creating, implementing, and assessing the effectiveness of internal staff sales incentives and channel-specific volume incentives.
  • Provide ad hoc support to local CEOs and Sales Directors in developing and reviewing external trade promotion strategies.
  • Guide country teams in designing and executing a tailored RTM Strategy across the Group using GTM IT systems to uncover each market’s opportunities.
  • Oversee the rollout and evaluation of the Group RTM strategy, including infrastructure (vehicles, devices, software, and personnel).
  • Partner with the Group CMO to develop standardized SKU naming conventions for unified monthly reporting across regions.
  • Compile and submit consolidated monthly Group sales reports to the Group CEO via the reporting software.
  • Work closely with local CEOs, Sales, and Export Directors to align product mix, pricing, and volumes with the PSP while monitoring trends, demand, economic data, and competitors.
  • Assist Group CEO and country CEOs in evaluating annual local Sales objectives.
  • Support review of the Group’s 5-year PSP initiatives with the Group CEO and local leadership.
  • Create standardized RTM strategy tools (e.g., management surveys, reports, dashboards) and ensure execution alignment in collaboration with Sales Directors and the Marketing team.
  • Develop a comprehensive Group sales toolkit covering: consistent sales structures across business units, job descriptions, planogram standards, merchandising, distributor management, incentive programs, etc.
  • Launch the Sales Academy across the Group, supporting toolkit training and rollout.
  • Design a Group Sales competency framework to identify high-potential talent and succession plans for leadership roles.
  • Lead the coaching, assessment, and performance reviews of Sales Directors across the Group.
  • Establish Group-wide RTM KPIs and work with GTM to create dashboards for tracking distributor and agent performance.
  • Standardize daily sales reporting (primary and secondary) across operating companies via Power BI.
  • Assist Trading Directors in developing and deploying a uniform agency framework and sales strategy, including formalizing agency contracts.
  • Define both internal and external Sales Capability development plans for the Group.
  • Establish a Group-wide training framework to embed a consistent and cohesive sales culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and postgraduate qualification in Sales/Marketing (required if undergraduate degree is unrelated). An MBA is a plus.
  • 7–10 years of senior-level experience in Sales/Marketing within a top-tier FMCG company.
