Generative AI and Data Science Internship Program at FlexiSAF

The Company

An Indigenous business called FlexiSAF Edusoft Limited wants to use technology to revolutionize education in Nigeria and throughout Africa. There are approximately 500 schools using FlexiSAF, and the company employs over 100 people. FlexiSAF Tech. Solutions Ltd. was the company’s operating name from 2008 until 2012 when FlexiSAF EduSoft Limited was registered.

The Role

We at FlexiSAF are committed to reimagining education, developing potential, and motivating people to choose fulfilling careers. We are dedicated to assisting people in acquiring the abilities and information required to be successful in the fields of data science and artificial intelligence (AI), which we consider to be two of the most significant and revolutionary of our day.

The goal of our, Generative AI and Data Science program is to develop the next wave of AI experts who will spur opportunity and innovation. Its goal is to give participants the tools they need to succeed in this fast-paced industry.

Beginner, intermediate, and advanced are the three program levels. From the fundamentals of data science and artificial intelligence to more complex ideas like machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI, each level covers a variety of subjects.

Acknowledged Participants will learn through self-study, complete assignments and projects in accordance with a carefully planned and curated internship program curriculum and resources that we make available to you at no cost, and have their progress tracked and supervised throughout the cohort to make sure you stay accountable and on course. You will receive mentorship from creative and motivating leaders throughout the program, gain invaluable experience working on real-world solutions, and pick up some soft skills that will be useful in the workplace.

NOTE: Since this is not a paid job, participants are not currently eligible for payment in the form of stipends to cover data allowance and other necessities. To enable FULL participation, including tracking progress at various points during the cohort, each participant must have a functional laptop and access to data.

Requirements

• It is necessary to have a working grasp of at least one programming language, such as Python, and its related libraries, such as scikit-learnis, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Knowledge or It is imperative to possess practical understanding of backend development concepts, frameworks, and technologies. This includes being proficient with databases and RESTful APIs, as well as having knowledge of server-side programming languages like Python, Java, or Node.js and frameworks like Flask or Django.
• Knowledge or comprehension of basic artificial intelligence (AI) ideas and methods, including computer vision, data modelling, neural networks and architectures, machine learning, deep learning, and NLP (natural language processing).
• Knowledge of Data Manipulation and Analysis: Candidates should possess a fundamental understanding of huge datasets, be able to do data preprocessing, feature engineering, and data visualisation tools like Tableau, Power BI, Google Data Studio, etc.
• knowledge of bias and ethics in AI.
• Accountable through performance indicators and predetermined metrics

• Teamwork and communication abilities.
• Demonstrable projects or a portfolio that highlights your abilities and enthusiasm for AI development. For individuals enrolling at Level 3 (Advanced stage), this can include academic projects, personal projects, or contributions to open-source AI projects.
• Note: Participants must meet the requirements for Level 3 (Advanced stage), complete additional testing, and collaborate with our Product Teams throughout their service year in order to be approved into the program under the NYSC category. The deadline for applications is December 2, 2024!
