Overview of the Position

  • Pfizer is dedicated to expanding West Africans’ access to medications and immunizations. As Pfizer’s in-country commercial representative, the Commercial Manager will be crucial in ensuring that Pfizer achieves its business goals.
  • Holding the distributor responsible for operational and commercial execution, encouraging teamwork, and propelling Pfizer’s market presence and expansion in the area—all while optimizing profits and revenues—will be the main responsibilities of this position.

Duties
Distributor Management:

  • Operate as Pfizer’s main liaison with the distributor, guaranteeing agreement on strategic goals and implementation.
  • Assist the distributor in creating and carrying out business plans that include operational, marketing, and sales strategies.
  • Work together with the distributor to guarantee fast order fulfillment, inventory control, and the best possible product availability.
  • Hold the distributor responsible for meeting key performance indicators (KPIs), market share growth, and sales targets.
  • Through frequent business reviews and audits, distributor performance is tracked and evaluated to make sure Pfizer’s standards and rules are being followed.

Development of the Market:

  • Serve as Pfizer’s local representative while preserving ties with important parties, such as government organizations and medical professionals.
  • Respond promptly to any questions you may have about the different stakeholders by interacting with the Pfizer XF team.
  • Evaluate and lead market development projects consistently to improve Pfizer’s portfolio presence in West Africa.
  • Give Pfizer information about consumer demands, market trends, and rivalry to help with strategic planning and decision-making.
  • To find and take advantage of market access opportunities, work with cross-functional teams (Medical, Regulatory, Market Access, Supply Chain, etc.).

Execution of Commercial Strategy:

  • To create and carry out efficient marketing and promotional plans for Pfizer’s portfolio, collaborate with the SSA Brand Manager and comprehend the distributor’s marketing requirements.
  • When appropriate, assist the distributor’s sales team in carrying out field force tasks, such as interacting with customers and creating demand.
  • Working together with the Commercial lead, Finance, and Health and Value team, pricing strategies are managed effectively. Make that the Value and Health teams are appropriately informed on the commercial plan, which includes pricing adjustments.
  • Track and evaluate profitability, pricing, and sales performance while offering suggestions to distributors to enhance results.
  • Assist the SSA Brand Manager and make sure that all market regulations and promotional rules are followed.

 

Management of Relationships:

  • To improve Pfizer’s standing and influence, keep up solid ties with regional healthcare associations and other pertinent parties.
  • Serve as the distributor’s trusted advisor, offering support and strategic direction to optimize company potential.
  • Act as Pfizer’s market spokesperson, promoting the interests of regional partners, stakeholders, and consumers.

 

 

Excellence in Operations:

  • Work together with Pfizer’s internal cross-functional teams to make sure that everything runs well, including supply chain management, product registration, and financial procedures.
  • Monitor and oversee the distributor’s promotional budgets to make sure resources are used efficiently.
  • Collaborate with strong reporting and monitoring systems to assure accountability and transparency in distributor operations.

 

Requirements

  • A post-graduate degree in commerce or the sciences will be appreciated.
  • Eight or more years of expertise in the pharmaceutical sector
  • Knowledge in dealing with distributors and large clients is an additional benefit
  • Knowledge of the monetary levers that affect channel management
  • Proficiency in Marketing, Customer Marketing, Key Accounts Management, and Sales Management

 

 

Technical Proficiency Needed:

  • Strategic Thinking: The capacity to create and carry out business plans that promote expansion and complement Pfizer’s mission.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent decision-making abilities to tackle difficult problems and create workable answers.
  • Adaptability: The capacity to handle conflicting priorities and negotiate ambiguity in a changing environment.
  • Willingness to visit West Africa on a regular basis to supervise distributor activities and interact with stakeholders
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent capacity to assess performance, analyze data, and spot areas for development.
  • Leadership: Proven capacity to persuade and inspire stakeholders and partners to accomplish common objectives.
  • Communication: Strong presenting and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to interact with people from different backgrounds and organizational levels.
