Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics or any numerate field.
- Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in credit underwriting and product operations, preferably in a financial services institution.
- Good understanding of business, economic, and industry risk.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate the financial status of potential customers, monitor existing clients, perform risk assessments and make informed decisions while extending credit.
- Analyze and assess the financial statements and credit history of existing and potential clients.
- Review credit applications and perform credit checks.
- Structure deals and perform risk assessments.
- Make informed decisions backed by sound assessment.
- Consult and negotiate with clients regarding financial transactions, payment terms, and credit limits.
- Evaluate the creditworthiness of business loan applications by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant information.
- Determine the appropriate loan structure based on the client’s creditworthiness and the company’s risk appetite.
- Assess risks associated with each loan and make recommendations to management regarding credit approvals and loan structures.
- Collaborate with sales and operations teams to ensure smooth loan disbursement and repayment.
- Develop and maintain relationships with borrowers, ensuring a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in credit analysis.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of credit policies and procedures.
- Prepare reports and presentations for management on credit risk and portfolio performance
- Handle multiple projects and submit applications on time.

Requirements

- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
