FUBAR is Britain’s biggest LIVE podcast network. Our uncensored live-broadcast content reaches millions of 18-to-34-year olds every week. We don’t have DJs or traditional presenters. Instead, we work with the biggest names in entertainment as well as nurturing the best of emerging talent who already have a large social following. In doing so, we cover a diverse range of programming that includes comedy, celebrity news, politics, football, sex and relationships and much more. But all of our content has one thing in common. It can’t be heard anywhere else on UK radio.
What You’ll Be Doing
The Assistant Radio & Social Content Producer will provide support to the radio broadcasting studio team and social media team in planning, producing, filming and editing to deliver high-quality radio shows, podcast content and creative social media management. This role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for radio broadcasting and social media. The role will be based full-time in our Islington-based studio.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the research, development, and planning of radio show topics and content.
- Collaborate with the production team to create engaging and entertaining radio scripts.
- Collaborate with the social media team to create engaging social media content, from filming and editing, to generating ideas for fun social media content that can be filmed with our studio guests.
- Set up and operate video recording equipment, including cameras, lighting, and audio equipment.
- Going to different locations to film footage for the social media pages i.e. vox pops.
- Ensure videos are visually engaging, well-framed, and of high technical quality.
- Write caption copy for social media posts, generate extra digital content surrounding shows, such as website articles.
- Help to manage several social media platforms and engage with the radio station’s audience.
- Coordinate and schedule interviews, guests, and contributors for radio shows.
- Prepare and edit audio recordings, ensuring high sound quality and clarity.
- Assist in the production of live radio shows, including operating audio equipment and managing on-air timings.
- Contribute creative ideas to enhance the quality and appeal of radio shows.
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of the studio.
- Support in administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, and maintaining databases.
- Stay updated with industry trends and current affairs to ensure relevant and up-to-date radio content.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience or qualification in radio production, journalism, or a related field.
- Ability to produce highly engaging social media content.
- Expertise in content creation for multiple social media platforms such as Tik Tok and Instagram, as well as for on-air.
- Experience in filming and editing and being comfortable with applications such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop and Canva to create social media images and videos.
- Experience operating a camera, monitoring audio and transferring digital files.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in UK English.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in audio editing software and radio broadcasting equipment.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of music genres, popular culture, and current events.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Attention to detail and a keen ear for audio quality, plus a keen eye for video and social content.
