Job Summary

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Accountant/Inventory Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee both financial and inventory management functions, ensuring accurate and efficient handling of our company’s assets. This role requires someone with strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to optimize processes to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management

• Monitor and track inventory levels to ensure that products are always in stock.
• Oversee the receipt and dispatch of goods, ensuring accurate record-keeping from arrival at the store to purchase.
• Process refunds and handle return transactions efficiently.
• Ensure that no products expire on the shelves by implementing a first-in, first-out (FIFO) system and conducting regular inventory audits.
• Conduct daily and monthly reconciliation of inventory records.
• Identify and address discrepancies between physical counts and inventory records.
• Coordinate with suppliers to manage purchase orders and restocking activities.
• Provide insights on slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
• Implement and manage processes for efficient restocking.
• Communicate any significant price changes to relevant departments and ensure they are implemented on the website.
• Forecast inventory needs based on sales projections and seasonality.
• Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate terms.
• Implement inventory control systems to minimize carrying costs.

Accounting

• Record daily financial transactions and manage the general ledger.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payment of invoices and collection of receivables.
• Conduct daily financial reconciliations of payment made from different channels every morning.
• Manage payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees.
• Track and record all company expenses, ensuring they are properly documented and categorized.
• Prepare and present financial reports to management, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
• Prepare financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement).
• Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor budget variances and provide explanations for discrepancies.
• Recommend budget revisions based on financial performance.
• Prepare and file tax returns (income tax, sales tax, etc.).
• Stay updated with tax laws and regulations.
• Ensure timely payment of taxes and manage tax audits.
• Conduct profitability analysis for products or business segments.
• Prepare financial models and forecasts to support decision-making.
• Identify financial risks and opportunities for cost savings.

Leadership and Team Management

• Lead and mentor the team to achieve operational efficiency and accuracy.
• Implement best practices in inventory and financial management, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with other departments to streamline processes and enhance overall business operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Proven 3 years’ experience in inventory management and accounting roles.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control systems and accounting software.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
