Job Summary: Virgin-Landmarts, a prominent real estate development company, is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage the company’s financial operations. The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data. This role is crucial in supporting the company’s financial stability and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, and monitor expenditures to ensure alignment with the company’s financial goals.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management review.
• Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns and compliance with all relevant tax regulations.
• Account Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies in financial records.
• Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for ongoing operations and project financing.
• Audit Preparation: Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data.
• Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all financial activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Payroll Management: Oversee the payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is a plus.
• Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in the real estate or construction industry.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
