As Mebic organic Accountant you will help makes critical financial decisions by collecting, tracking, and correcting the company’s finances. Your role includes financial audits, reconciling bank statements, calculating tax payments and returns, reviewing and reconciling accounts, processing payments to external partners and maintaining updated records of invoices and receipts, process all financial transactions accurately and on time. Ultimately, you will provide us with accurate quantitative information on financial position, liquidity and cash flows of our business while ensuring we’re compliant with all tax regulations and our financial records are accurate throughout the year. You must be experienced with bookkeeping and have a flair for spotting numerical mistakes

Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting transactions
- Prepare budget forecasts
- Publish financial statements in time
- Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
- Ensure timely bank payments
- Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
- Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
- Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity
- Audit financial transactions and documents
- Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
- Comply with financial policies and regulations.
Manage obligations to suppliers, customers and third-party vendors
- Process bank deposits
- Reconcile and Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule

- Contact clients and send reminders to ensure timely payments
- Submit tax forms
- Identify and address discrepancies
- Report on the status of accounts payable and receivable
- Update internal accounting databases and spreadsheets Manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers
- Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
- Provide input into department’s goal setting process
- Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
- Plan, assign and review staff’s work
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
- Liaise with our Financial Manager to improve financial procedures
Requirements and skills
- Work experience as an Accountant
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Hands-on experience with accounting software like Xerosand QuickBooks
- Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables, (using financial formulas and creating spreadsheets)
- Experience with general ledger functions
- Awareness of business trends
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
- Additional certification (ACCA AND ICAN) is a plus
- Solid data entry skills with an ability to identify numerical errors
- Good organizational and time-management abilities
- BSc degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant field
- Good knowledge of bookkeeping procedures and debt collection regulations
