Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. General Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Prepare accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Manage general ledger activities, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
2. Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Assist with budget development and financial forecasts for various entertainment projects (films, music, events).
- Track and monitor project costs and ensure expenses align with budgeted projections.
- Provide financial insights and forecasts to aid in decision-making processes.
3. Payroll & Tax Management
- Oversee payroll processing, ensuring compliance with employment laws and accurate calculations for salaries, taxes, and benefits.
- Ensure timely tax filings, including VAT, corporate tax, and income tax, while adhering to local, state, and federal tax regulations.
4. Industry-Specific Financial Duties
- Manage financial transactions related to royalties, licensing, talent payments, and contractual agreements.
- Work closely with production teams to manage financial logistics for live events, film productions, and music projects.
- Monitor entertainment-related revenues from ticket sales, merchandise, and sponsorship deals.
5. Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze financial performance and provide variance analysis comparing actual results with forecasts.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve profitability.
- Prepare detailed financial reports for management, summarizing key financial data and insights.
6. Internal Controls & Compliance
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial transactions.
- Support external audits and work with auditors to resolve any discrepancies or issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably within the entertainment industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar.
- Strong analytical and financial reporting skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Relevant certification is an advantage.
